Dr. Ramos-Colón believes it is of the utmost importance to create a collaborative relationship with clients based on mutual respect. His hope is that clients are able to implement insight gained from therapy into their life in a way that is useful, effective, and congruent with their values and goals. He wishes to help clients by listening and paying close attention to specific patterns and dynamics in relationships that are causing them distress. Dr. Ramos-Colón likes to help clients explore and identify effective ways that lead to stronger mental health and overall wellbeing.
Areas of Focus:
Dr. Ramos-Colón previously worked with individuals, couples, and families across the lifespan who have experienced traumatic events, family conflict, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, immigration issues, cultural adjustment challenges, and men’s issues. He is fluent in Spanish and has been trained in providing therapy and neuropsychological assessment services fully in Spanish if desired.
Dr. Gerardo Ramos-Colón received a Doctor of Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and his undergraduate degree was granted in Psychology and Mental Health from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey.
