Project Description

Dr. Ramos-Colón believes it is of the utmost importance to create a collaborative relationship with clients based on mutual respect. His hope is that clients are able to implement insight gained from therapy into their life in a way that is useful, effective, and congruent with their values and goals. He believes that by creating a space where client’s feel comfortable and safe they are able to explore difficult dynamics within themselves or in their relationships. Dr. Ramos-Colón likes to help clients explore and identify effective ways of coping and managing stress, anxiety and depression that lead to stronger mental health and overall wellbeing.

Areas of Focus:

Dr. Ramos-Colón has experience working with individuals, couples and families across the lifespan who have experienced traumatic events, family conflict, depression, anxiety, relationship difficulties, domestic violence, immigration issues, cultural adjustment challenges, and men’s issues. Another area of interest is working with athletes, student-athletes and former athletes r transitioning from sports whether it is due to retirement, injury or choosing a different path can be hard on self-esteem and the sense of identity. 

In addition, Dr. Ramos-Colón specializes in psychological testing for ADHD, learning disabilities, social-emotional functioning and autism with both adults and children. 

He is fluent in Spanish and has been trained in providing therapy and neuropsychological assessment services fully in Spanish if desired.

Accomplishments:

Dr. Gerardo Ramos-Colón received a Doctor of Clinical Psychology from The Chicago School of Professional Psychology, and his undergraduate degree was granted in Psychology and Mental Health from the University of Puerto Rico at Cayey.
