If a person has been thinking about therapy for a long time, I can’t help but feel that it is profound that we are here together in this moment. I think about the fact that the person in the room with me brings with them a life full of experiences and stories from before they arrived at my office. I am keenly aware of the fact that until now, we are complete strangers and I am inviting them to discuss the intimate details of their lives with me.
